Electricity Association of Ireland Website
EAI is the representative body for the electricity sector operating within the Single Electricity Market on the island of Ireland. In late 2015 EAI commissioned Wedevelop to develop a new website, both for the public and for their members facing area.
The design of the previous site had not been revamped since 2010 and was in need of an aesthetic update. Taking our cue from the existing logo, we created a clean, friendly layout with green accent colours. This mirrors the growing role of green energy withing the sector. The key design choices to consider included ways to display the many documents available for the public from the site in an accessible way which did not impinge on the minimal green and white layout.
The development phase of the new website split the functionality between two main features. The first task was to create a database of content posts (word documents, pdfs and powerpoint presentations) which could be searchable and downloadable by members. Secondly, we created a system of account creation and content restriction wherein certain content could only be viewed by certain registered members. This system, including members information was then securely stored.
